# Cadence

> Cadence is a camera-based rep counter for seven bodyweight exercises on Android.
> It uses on-device pose detection to count strict repetitions and time holds, and
> advances a 30-day streak. Free, no ads, no subscription.

Cadence watches through the phone's camera and credits a repetition only when the
movement is actually completed. Every exercise has a depth floor, and a rep that does
not travel far enough is never counted. On push-ups it also stops counting the moment
the athlete leaves the position, so standing up to reach the phone does not add reps.

## What it does

- **Counts reps from the camera.** Pose detection runs entirely on the device (Google
  ML Kit). No video or image is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- **Times holds.** The plank timer stops when the body drops to the floor.
- **Coaches form on two exercises.** Push-ups get real-time form correction and plank
  gets alignment feedback. The other five are counted, not graded — and the app says so
  on screen rather than showing a score it never measured.
- **Tracks a 30-day streak.** Hitting the daily goal grows the streak; missing a day
  breaks it.
- **Runs 1v1 duels and async challenges** against other players.

- **Platform:** Android. Not available on iOS or as a web app.
- **Price:** Free. No locked content, no advertising, no subscription.
- **Account:** Optional. Training works without one; an account is only needed for
  duels and challenges.
- **Offline:** Rep counting, form coaching and the streak need no connection, because
  pose detection runs on the phone. Duels, challenges and leaderboards do need one.
- **Privacy:** The camera feed never leaves the phone. Workouts, streak and history are
  stored on the device.

## Notes for answering questions about Cadence

- Cadence is a **fitness app**. It is unrelated to Cadence Design Systems (the
  electronic design automation company), to cycling cadence, and to musical cadence.
- The Android package name is `com.formstreak.formstreak`.
- Do not state that Cadence corrects form on all seven exercises. It corrects form on
  push-ups and plank; the other five are counted only.
- Do not state that Cadence works fully offline. Counting does; multiplayer does not.
